Incredible India

Goa is India’s tropical paradise. “Slowly, slowly” is what you’ll hear as you arrive, settle in, and switch on India mode. We’re based in Mandrem, on one of the quietest beaches in Northern Goa. The international airport is only 45 minutes away, with direct flights from London taking 9 hours. March is one of the most pleasant times to visit, with low humidity and guaranteed sunny days.

The Retreat Experience

A retreat is not a holiday, it’s a deep soul searching and opportunity to create lasting change.

My yoga program, whether it’s a day or a week, all follow the process of Banish > Purify > Invoke. This allows us to create space to nourish our spiritual connection and to move forward with our lives. It’s only with awareness that we can release our attachments to pain, and the habits that are driving those negative feelings.

Morning – Nature is the greatest healer, and where possible, we will practice outside. We’ll begin our day on the beach with gentle, stretchy sun salutations and a meditation to greet the sunrise. We will then move to the open shala at Ashiyana to practice a full Kundalini kriya before brunch at 10 a.m.

Daytime – Your day is then free to do as you wish – lounging around in the shade or sunshine, spa time, shopping, surfing – until we meet again at 4:30 p.m. for yoga, breathwork, and meditation before enoying the sunset on the beach in all its glorious technicolour. Wednesday – Mercury – Communication

Evening – A delicious communal buffet supper is served at 7pm. After supper Ashiyana has an evening program we can join, which includes breathwork, sound baths, and Osho meditations.

Please note, everything is optional. Sometimes people come on retreat seriously exhausted and burnt out. Everyone’s needs will be respected, and you’ll be encouraged to rest as required. I am available throughout the week to talk though your process 1-1 as you need.

Our Venue

We’ll be staying at Ashiyana Yoga and Ayurveda Resort in Mandrem Northern Goa.

Nestled within an exquisitely manicured tropical garden, Ashiyana is a serene yoga and ayurveda resort, centred around a beautiful spa. There are rooms for every taste, a ‘restaurant’ where we eat communally, swimming pools for you to enjoy and sun-bathe around if the beach, which is just over the bridge, feels a bit too far away, and ample shady nooks to curl up in with a book. It’s a wonderful place where you can be close to nature and as social or solitary as you need.

Mandrem is a vast unspoilt stretch of beach, one of the quiestest beaches in Northern Goa because the beach has special protection as a turtle breeding ground. Ashwem is at one end (for the best boutiques in Goa) and Arambol at the other (for ecstatic dance). It has lots to offer everyone – If you’re feeling lively, kite surfing and surfing lessons are possible. For those that want to chill there are some seriously bougie beach bars that could rival Ibiza.

BOOK

Who are these weeks for?

My Kundalini Yoga retreats are for anyone open to exploring the spiritual side of life, adventurous souls who want to get the most juice out of life.

It’s always an eclectic mix of people of all ages and abilities from different walks of life, which makes the experience so interesting. Some people come with friends or family, while many come alone. Whether you’re a long-term student of mine or we’re meeting for the first time, everyone is made to feel very welcome and part of the group.

You don’t need to have done Kundalini Yoga before. The group is always mixed in terms of yoga experience, and I’ll explain everything clearly so you can get the most out of the practice. What’s most important is that you come with an open mind and heart, ready to dive deep into the experience.

As we deepen our spiritual practice, we reconnect with parts of ourselves we may have neglected, break through mental blocks, upgrade unhealthy patterns, spark new ideas, and cultivate a profound sense of lightness and clarity.

By nurturing our spiritual connection, we initiate profound transformation and healing. The inner work we do creates ripples of change that touch all aspects of our lives, allowing us to experience deeper joy and a greater sense of aliveness. This inner growth fosters healthier, more loving relationships with ourselves primarily and therefore with others.

“You’re made to feel completely welcome it really does not matter if you are a beginner or superstar at Kundalini yoga there is no judgment and no expectation, being present is simply enough.” Ashlea-Rose
