How to be proactive about your health, with a science and lab testing based root cause approach (no more fads!)
Health optimisation, hormones and longevity are ‘trending’, with content related to what to eat and how to live to feel better for longer, reduce hormone issues and prevent illness flooding the media. Home health testing and tracking devices are everywhere, empowering you to take care of your own health.
You likely know that you should be eating your greens, getting more sleep, reduce stress and exercise, supplement with vitamin D during winter. Perhaps you have even toyed with some more advanced ‘biohacking’ ideas such as metformin, tried blood sugar monitors, stool testing and devoured the podcasts of Huberman, Peter Attia, Zoe and the like.
But how do you know you are doing it right?
Join our in house Functional Medicine expert Mirthe Eckl for a workshop on all things health, hormones and longevity, from a science, lab testing and root cause perspective.
She will explain how niggly health issues in earlier life connect to more serious health issues later on, via underlying root causes such as hormone issues, inflammation, nutrient deficiencies and gut microbiome imbalances.
Some of the concerns and symptoms touched upon include:

Rather than being doom and gloom, she will empower you with simple, yet impactful strategies you can do now to look and feel better, and prevent issues in the long run at the same time.
These strategies include:
- Which simple lab tests to run to add precision to, and personalise your efforts, and why ‘normal’ results might not be good enough if you want to be proactive
- Some simple yet targeted dietary and lifestyle strategies with the biggest ‘bang for your buck’
- Plus an introduction to which supplements you really should be on, and which might be overhyped
If you have had a basic blood panel done, bring this along, as she will go through some of the basic markers most often included in any health panel at your GP, including ferritin, HbA1c, vitamin D, GGT, HsCRP (simple blood sugar, inflammation, liver markers) and explain how placing them into narrower, ‘optimal’ ranges can empower you to make simple changes now, and prevent ‘real’ issues down the line.
Mirthe will also touch upon what other, more in depth testing and health strategies there are, if you would like to take it one step further. This includes testing for root causes that deter longevity and health by triggering the ‘hallmarks of aging such as DNA health testing, inflammatory trigger including mold, gut microbiome health, food intolerances, heavy metals and more.
