Book WorkshopBeneath the surface of our composure, there is a fire. There is a grief that has been silenced and a rage that has been told it is unlovable. In a world that often asks women to be small, quiet, and agreeable, our bodies become the storage units for the emotions we were never allowed to express.
Kali’s Wrath is a sacred container for releasing what you’ve been holding. This is not a space to "fix" yourself, but to finally let yourself be - in all your power, pain, and passion.
Through guided somatic practices (body-based therapeutic tools), we will move away from overthinking and into the wisdom of the body. We will use breath, movement, vocal release, and grounding techniques to safely access and alchemise the raw energies of rage and grief, transforming them from burdens into sources of power and clarity.
Who is Kali?
To step into this work, we call upon the fierce and compassionate energy of the Hindu Goddess Kali.
Kali is one of the most powerful and misunderstood deities in the Hindu tradition. Often depicted standing with Her foot on the chest of Shiva (pure consciousness), She is dark-skinned, wild-haired, and wearing a necklace of severed heads and a skirt of severed arms. In Her many hands, She carries a sword and a freshly severed head, while offering blessings with the other.
Contrary to a Western misinterpretation of Her as simply "demonic" or violent, Kali is the ultimate Divine Mother and Protector. She represents:
- The Destruction of Ego: The severed heads represent the ego - the false identities, stories, and limiting beliefs that keep us small. She liberates us by cutting through these illusions.
- Fierce Compassion: Her rage is not born of hatred, but of a fierce, maternal love. She destroys only that which harms us - the demons of suppression, shame, and trauma.
- The Sacred Darkness: Kali embodies the raw, untamed power of nature and the cosmos. She is the void from which all creation springs and the fire that consumes everything to make way for the new.
Kali does not turn away from the "messy" parts of existence. She dances in the cremation ground of the past, reminding us that death and rebirth are one continuous cycle. By invoking Kali, we give ourselves permission to stop performing peace and start processing truth.
What to Expect:
In this workshop, we will use Kali as our guide to:
- Identify where rage and grief are stored in the physical body.
- Learn somatic tools to release tension and emotional blockages without needing to "tell your story."
- Differentiate between destructive anger (reaction) and sacred rage (righteous action).
- Create a ritual of release, honouring the pain that has shaped us and reclaiming the energy it has consumed.
- Ground and integrate the experience, leaving with a renewed sense of vitality and clarity.
This workshop is for you if:
- You feel inexplicably heavy, angry, or sad but have no "reason" to.
- You are tired of being tired and want to feel more alive and joyful.
- You are experiencing collective grief for the state of the world.
- You seek permission to meet yourself with compassion, exactly as you are.
- You feel called to explore the shadows as a path to wholeness.
- You are ready to stop fearing your power and start embodying it.
For over thirty five years, somatic therapist, coach and facilitator, Erika Tourell has practiced a unique alchemy of human connection, weaving trauma-informed somatic tools with deep relational presence.
