Book WorkshopWe all know what it feels like to try to push through or keep going when things are difficult. But sometimes trying harder isn't the answer. Sometimes we need to pause, make space and allow things to unfold in their own time.
Over four weeks, we'll look at the balance between determination, patience and self-trust – essentially how to meet this uncertain life. We’ll draw on Buddhist teachings and the Yoga Sūtras and as usual I’ll make them relevant and accessible for our life today.
Together we'll explore how we can:
- Keep showing up for what matters without becoming rigid;
- Meet difficulty without immediately trying to fix it;
- Cultivate patience without being passive;
- Let go of our attachment to particular outcomes;
- And develop the trust that we can meet whatever comes.
Meditation isn't simply about calming the mind. It can teach us how to meet ourselves – this life – in a more meaningful way. Sometimes the practice is to keep going. Sometimes the practice is to stop pushing. And sometimes the practice is simply to trust that something is unfolding, even when we can't yet see it.
The course is open to anyone interested in meditation or these themes – no previous experience needed. There will be short talks, guided meditation, and some space to reflect and share.
Recordings will be available should you need to miss one or several of the sessions. And there’s also a ‘recording-only’ option.
