Book WorkshopWhy do we eat when we’re not hungry—especially when we promised ourselves we wouldn’t? In this 75 minutes interactive workshop, we’ll explore the deeper reasons behind emotional eating, from stress and boredom to loneliness and beyond.
What to expect:
A clear framework to help understand emotional eating patterns.
Insight into different types of emotional eating—like secretive eating or eating to soothe discomfort.
A guided exercise using the Wheel of Emotions to identify what’s really going on beneath the surface.
A body-awareness practice to tune into where tension lives and what might be triggering the urge to eat.
Gentle reflection on how to accept emotions without judgment.
A group discussion on healthier coping tools—like mindfulness, movement, creativity, or connection.
You’ll leave with a simple toolkit to support you through real-life challenges—something you can turn to when emotions run high.

After more than 21 diets, gestational diabetes, countless binges, and years of therapy and coaching, I reached a point where I knew there had to be another way to heal my relationship with food. That’s when I discovered emotional eating—not just as a concept, but as a powerful key to understanding the “why” behind so many of my patterns. I quickly realised, though, that the space was lacking in simple, practical guidance—especially for people who don’t have a diagnosed eating disorder but still struggle deeply with food. My background as a pharmacist and PhD in the genetics of diabetes gave me a strong foundation, but even with all that knowledge, I still found myself stuck. I kept thinking: If I’m struggling this much, how must others be feeling?
That question became my driving force. In 2021, I started a local meetup group to open up the conversation around emotional eating. In 2022, I launched the Emotional Eating with Marilyn podcast, and in 2023, I created The Positive Journal on Emotional Eating. With every story shared and every bit of feedback received, my purpose became clearer: to make emotional eating easier to understand, talk about, and work through. Today, I coach individuals and groups with a mix of science, self-compassion, and lived experience—helping others feel less alone and more empowered on their journey to food freedom.
